Not a riverboat show
Scott and I went to see a one (wo)man play last night at the Edmonton Arts Barn. "Arts Barn" you say? Yeah, Edmonton is classy like that, we have theatre in Barns.
It was a show based on a book, The Edmonton Queen: The Final Voyage, written by a man who was a drag queen in the 1980's. The book chronicles his adventures as a young man from Rocky Mountain House who moved to Edmonton as a young man and quickly discovered the whirlwind of the Edmonton underground nightclub scene.
The show was fantastic. Unbelievably funny, and heartbreakingly sad. He recounts the rise and fall of the drag dynasty that he was so much a part of. In heels.

Its funny, the last time Scott and I went to the theatre to see a live show was when we went to a stage drag show. Our cultural experiences heavily revolve around trannies. Hmm.
