Shiva
While in the ROM in Toronto, Scott and I not only took in the Diamond exhibit, but we also tried to see as much as we could while there. We spent a huge amount of time looking at the world culture portions of the museum and I was incredibly impressed with the amount of artifacts they have. From the assyrians to head shrinking tribes in Africa, we saw so many unbelievable things in remarkably fantastic condition.
I have to confess, seeing the artifacts from ancient Egypt was very special for me. I had been learning about them in Art History and I was very impressed with myself that I was able to identify a few pieces and explain the significance of them to Scott. Like The Palette of Narmer.
Overall though, I think one of my absolute pieces was a bronze statue of Shiva. Ive always found Shiva an interesting figure in mythology. The enigma that surrounds this character is inspiring and makes me feel.. Im not sure how to describe it actually.. Its almost as if I have some sort of connection to Shiva.
