The Distillery District
One of my favorite parts of Toronto is the Distillery District. It's a part of town that was once full of brick work warehouses which have been now converted to small businesses, restaurants, and galleries.
It has been completely closed off to vehicle traffic, so to get around, you'd have to walk. It's kind of nice actually. The streets are lit with gas powered lanterns and there's LED lights lining alley ways that shift color. One of the really nice things is that big chain stores aren't allowed to open in this part, so you are given an experience of new and fresh things that you might not see all the time. Even Starbucks isn't allowed in.
